What age group classes do you have at Buoyant?

We offer classes for children of age 2-13 years and for teenagers and adults as well. The batches are distributed according to age and interest as we believe that different age has a different learning graph.

What types of classes do you offer?

We offer classes for Creative Dance, Royal American Ballet, Theatre Jazz, Hip Hop, Bhangra for Kids 2 years to 13 years. For Adults we teach Contemporary, Ballet classes on regular course basis and other dance forms like Aerial movements, Hip Hop, etc… on workshop or short courses basis.

Can I come in and try out a class?

Absolutely! You can try out any class that we offer. We have trial classes once a month. You need to check with us when is the trial classes happening at the location near you. We offer drop in classes for any of our Intermediate- Advanced level classes where you can pay by class or purchase an open class deal with us.

What benefits will my child gain from dance class?

Your child is about to begin his/her dance education. Through proper training they will develop good posture, poise, proper body alignment and grace. Dancing will increase flexibility, improve coordination and introduce an appreciation for the performing arts. Stage experience and our photo shoot will help the shy, self-conscious child; and class structure will control the over-aggressive one. Self-expression will be learned through the most beautiful of all the arts.
For adults we cater to personalized goals and one-to-one evaluation which facilitates better growth. We provide examinations, certifications and performance / competition opportunities.

How many students are in a class?

This one is more difficult to answer. It can be as few as 8 and as many as 15, depending upon the studio capacity, class, time of year, days, etc…! But we make sure that no student is neglected and the teacher puts attention on everyone.

What are facilities in your studio?

The studio’s interiors are suitable for dance classes with mirror installed and carpet or sponge flooring. In all our studios we have changing room, clean washroom, good music system and drinking water facilities. Although, some might have a waiting area too. All studios have a first-aid kit.

Are your dance instructors trained?

Yes! We train and carefully screen and select our faculty. In India, there is no licence for dance teachers and anyone can open up a dance studio. This is why it is very important to really get to know your instructors and your studio. Reputation and word of mouth is your best guide. You can refer to our team page for dance teacher’s where you can get to know about them. Our teachers are trained by national and international faculty and have received many certifications, scholarships and awards for their works. We also make you rest assure of our teachers and curriculum. They all are mentored well and they plan for their class always.

How long are your classes?

45 to 90 minutes. You can opt for once a week or twice a week package.

I’m excited about BPA! How do I enrol?

Enrollment can be done by visiting at the studio during the working hours. Each studio have a different working hours so it’s suggested to speak to us before visiting. You need to fill a registration form and pay the fee to get yourself registered.

What attire does my child need to wear to dance class?

Proper dance attire is required in order to participate in a Ballet class – leotard with skirt and Ballet slippers (Pink, Salmon or Black colour only depending on your studio colour code). For other classes, feel free to dress in what you are most comfortable and able to move in, and remember layers and light clothing help as you will get warm throughout the class. Preferred – Jazz pants or track pants with not too loose colourless cotton tee-shirts. Do not wear flip flops, body revealing clothes or beach wear to your class.

Do you give out evaluations of students?

We send out student evaluations twice per year. ! We always provide feedback to the students and parents of the dancer’s progress and value the opportunity to share their development. It is always advised to reach out to the teachers personally in case there is any trouble or query about what is being taught.

How can I get involved with The Company?

At The Company, we have a number of people who kindly volunteer for our events, festivals and activity camps. We are in a look for people who would like to get involved in small or a big way in company activities and we appreciate those who step in to help. Dancers and other artists can get involved through collaboration work.

We have a volunteer register at The Academy which parents can sign up to. We will ask what sort of job you are interested in volunteering for (for example, backstage supervision at the Academy concert, or assisting at the Dance Stars concert) and take down your details. Before each event we will contact those parents on the list and have a meeting at The Academy so you are prepared and understand what’s required for the event

What is the difference between Pre-Ballet and ballet?

Creative Movement and Pre-Ballet lay the foundation for more intensive ballet coursework. Our Pre-Ballet classes focus on introducing technique and stage presence and developing artistic sensibilities in a nurturing, enjoyable, and disciplined environment before the child steps in to the formal structured Ballet classes.

How long does the Pre-Ballet program take to complete?

The Pre-Ballet program typically takes two years to complete. Because every dancer is unique, we work closely with you and your child to ensure certain milestones have been reached before proceeding onto the next level. Ballet Beginner course is for 2 years.

Do you offer payment plans also?

We encourage you to communicate any financial concerns with us while doing registration or visiting our studio so that we can establish a payment plan customized to your need. Though we have some plans like open class enrollment, Group offer, and quarterly payment discounts available.

What opportunities will I or the child get?

At Buoyant, we host many workshops by national and international teachers that gives exposure to you. We also organize dance showcases where you can get a chance to perform in front of audience. We keep inform about various competitions that you or your child can be a part of and various performances and festivals that happen in the city.
